She was born in the old Alexandria hospital just south of where Carter and Reagan were trading notes on the best way to run a nation. As most March days in the mid-Atlantic are, the weather was more conducive to firesides and hot rum than to the act of being born, but born she was into a blizzard. Lets not say this set the precedent for her life, but perhaps Mother Nature knew even then the path this girl would follow. Her first encounter with magic would happen not 48 hours after her birth: Her parents brought their perfect child to the death bed of her grandmother, who at first sight of the child levitated from her bed in pure joy.
