Hi! I'm Alyssa (pronounced: uh-lee-suh, not uh-lis-uh). I am in my senior year at Drake University, where I am a student in the College of Arts & Sciences and the College of Business & Public Administration. More specifically, I am majoring in Politics with minors in Business Studies, Sociology, and Music (Viola). This diverse educational background allows me to exercise my critical thinking, written communication, and attention to detail in preparation for the professional world. My career goals immediately consist of (but are not limited to) working for a nonprofit organization or for the charitable side of a corporation, particularly in special events/fundraising, advocacy, or grant writing.
Currently, I have the amazing opportunity of being the Special Events, Fundraising, Social Media, & Marketing Intern for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Last fall, I served as the VP of Marketing for the Gamma Omicron chapter of Alpha Phi. As a student who needs to afford her education, I have waitressed for the past seven years, allowing me to interact with many interesting people. Other experience includes being the Founder of the Annual "Spread the Warmth" Sock Drive and working for the Drake University Office of Residence Life. Previously, I was a Development Intern with the American Lung Association and the Director of Community Service for my Alpha Phi chapter.
