She also covered activism for SF Weekly and Paste Magazine, and interviewed award-winning authors for Paste and The Los Angeles Review of Books.

Alyssa began in financial news, covering unemployment, student debt and JCPenney.

She's also written for USA Today, VICE, Mental Floss and more. And she wrote a cover story for Contingencies Magazine.

She placed second in the 2015 Litquake writing contest and was a spring 2016 resident at The Lemon Tree House. She graduated summa cum laude from Gettysburg College.
