Amanda Holmes

Amanda O. Holmes, Ph.D., is an accomplished higher education leader, accreditation evaluator, and corporate trainer with more than 20 years of experience shaping academic excellence and organizational effectiveness. She currently serves as Dean of Education at Fortis College, where she sets academic standards, develops policies, and partners with accrediting and licensing agencies to ensure quality and compliance.

Her career includes roles as Interim Campus President and Academic Dean at Virginia College, where she exceeded institutional retention and pass-rate goals, led curriculum overhauls, and achieved multiple programmatic and institutional accreditations with zero or minimal citations. In addition, Amanda has taught across multiple institutions, including Rasmussen University, Sumter High School, Northeastern Technical College, and the St. Louis Adult Education Center.

As a certified pharmacy technician and national accreditation evaluator with agencies such as DEAC, ABHES and ACICS, she brings specialized expertise in compliance, curriculum design, blended learning, and student success strategies.

Amanda holds a Ph.D. in Higher Education Leadership and Management Policy from Walden University, as well as an MBA in Management and an MS in Healthcare Administration. Her research centers on academic advising, retention, persistence, and graduation outcomes.
