I am an innovation strategist and art director currently living in Toronto. My interests range from design thinking to eXonomics.

Prior to joining MaRS Discovery District, I worked for the UK’s Foreign Office and Global Affairs, promoting innovation & creativity in Canada and Europe.

I strongly believe in the power of boundless creativity in the workplace and I'm obsessed about finding innovative ways to challenge existing structures. Precise, yet agile, I am committed to help business leaders tap into their own creative capabilities through the rigorous, proven process that is design thinking. Creativity is a tool, a mindset that can be utilized in every facets of one's life. The aim is to foster cross functional collaboration, improve communication and breakdown silos in order for groundbreaking ideas to emerge. The pace of technological change is ever accelerating. It is time for corporations to learn how to think like startups. Flexibility starts with the mind, with addressing fear and resistance to change. Then, we can truly move forward.

Being an entrepreneur at heart, I have worked as a strategist with organizations such as C2MTL, Smart City Expo, World Press Photo, the White House, Kaiser Permanente, Export Quebec, THNK School, and Tokyo Fashion Week. For a decade, I worked in SaaS business development and was a board member for an ICT company based in Montreal - subsidiary of Google - that successfully exited in 2015. I was also involved with for non-profits Apathyisboring.com and Equitas, advising them on how to design creative social media and fundraising campaigns.

To balance my passion for human-centered design and immersive experiences, I spend countless hours in the GREAT Canadian outdoors. I also enjoy dancing, singing and playing piano.

In playfulness,

Amelie
