I am a global health communicator, racial and social justice advocate, writer and editor.

Currently, I am a strategic communications consultant working with the NoVo Foundation. NoVo invests in efforts to effect societal transformation, particularly related to advancing equity for girls and women globally (including in the United States), promoting local living economies and supporting Indigenous Communities . I am honored to be writing a strategic report for the foundation on their core initiatives. Prior to this, I was the Director of Communications and Development for Jacaranda Health, a non-profit organization which builds and operates maternity care centers in Kenya. I am the former editor of Impatient Optimists, the blog for the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation where I also worked as a global digital communications strategist for three years. I served as Managing Editor/Senior Staff Writer for RH Reality Check where I helped build the award-winning digital platform for reproductive and sexual health and rights coverage.

I've been published or cited in numerous progressive online publications including Role Reboot, The Manifest Station, BlogHer, Alternet and the Huffington Post. I am a contributor to the newest edition of Our Bodies, Ourselves, an advisor for Scarleteen and was an associate producer for the film PODER!.
