Amit Sandhu is the CEO of the Ampri Real Estate Development Group. Since 1991, Ampri has built over 800 homes in Richmond and has built an investment portfolio including apartment buildings, commercial retail centres, and several urban-development and agricultural properties across Canada.
Amit is a co-founder of the federally registered charity Young Entrepreneur Leadership Launchpad (YELL Canada). YELL collaborates with school districts to support the delivery of unique accredited entrepreneurship 12 programs throughout Metro Vancouver. Amit and his partners have the audacious goal of transforming business education at high schools across Canada by engaging communities to support the next generation of leaders in their classrooms.
Amit worked with leaders at Emily Carr University of Art + Design and the City of Richmond in 2014 to launch and sponsor an innovative undergraduate course on the Social Practice of Public Art. Using one of his real estate developments as a case study for Emily Carr students, Amit produced a documentary with Khare Communications to share this new collaborative model with other municipalities, developers and art educators.
Amit is also co-founder of the Grind for the Mind, a fundraising hike for Richmond Hospital that raised over $250,000 to help implement the first Family-Centred Model of Care for individuals and families effected by mental health issues in B.C. Amit has served on the City of Richmond’s Economic Advisory Committee since 2011 and in 2014, was recognized by Business in Vancouver as one of the top Forty under 40 professionals in B.C.
