Amy Liao

Event Planner and Consultant in Manhattan, New York

Hello! Thank you for visiting my profile! As you can see above, my name is Amy and I am a Special Events Manager. I was born and raised in New York City and I am still living here. Yes, I have been here all of my life and have not made any plans to move elsewhere. I am not against moving away from New York City, but it seems like I have not been able to escape its charm... I would visit other cities in the states like, Chicago, Boston, Los Angelos, Portland, and these cities are beautiful, but it's not New York.

A little more than 2 weeks ago, I was working full time for a company called Quarterhorse Technology. I was hired to be a dispatcher because I am very familiar with the software, ConnectWise. For those of you that are unfamiliar with this program, ConnectWise is a client management application that is designed to help IT companies keep track of clients and maintain work flow. Not long after I started, I became very involved with all aspects of the company including and not limited to; client relationship management, helpdesk support, service ticket management, office management, inventory maintenance, project management, redesigning workflow, revamping company website, etc. After my first year with Quarterhorse, I became the Operations Manager for the company. Unfortunately, due to a series of strange and exciting events with my career, I had to leave Quarterhorse. Now, I am working part-time for Purpalo Events & Marketing.

I know you are probably wondering, “Whoa, what happened there?”. Well, I had been working as an Events Assistant for Purpalo since 2014. At the time, I was only able to assist during the event which happened once or twice a month, usually on weekends. Around February of 2017, my boss at Purpalo reached out to me requesting my help with planning a few up coming events for the summer. I have always been interested in planning an event from start to finish and I was very excited to help. My work hours were very flexible and I can work from home. It did not take long before I realized that my passion was in event planning and it was time to make a career change.

Although Purpalo is a great company to work for, I am currently looking for something full time.

If you have made it this far into my bio, you are probably interested in meeting up for coffee or tea! Whether it be for a job opportunity or simply expanding your professional network, please send me an email! I would love to connect!
