Hello, my name is Amy and I am a Personal Chef based out of Lake Tahoe, California. People often ask me how I got started in cooking. Like many chefs, my strongest early influences came from my own family. As long as I can remember, my parents have been cooking for the holidays & family functions. Dinner has always been a special time to reconnect and bring everyone together. As I became older, my mother encouraged me to choose recipes, then shop and cook for our large family of eight. Much of my learning in the kitchen came from trying new recipes and executing them. My passion for cooking developed and I noticed that feeding people was a sure way to make everyone happy.
I feel that preparing dishes from scratch with minimal manipulation allows the character of the ingredients to shine. I focus on the use of seasonal and when available, organic ingredients. My philosophy on cooking is to make you feel good through unique and inspired dishes.
