I am a bioinformatics software developer, building cancer mutation curation software in use for both research & clinical personal genomics.

In my previous work as a bioinformatics researcher, I conducted research on the Wolbachia bacteria as part of the Eliminate Dengue program, on thermal responses of the model plant Arabidopsis Thaliana, and on allele-specific expression in colorectal cancer.

My professional interests include bioinformatics software development, data architecture and database administration, performancecomputing, NGS pipeline analysis, genetics and cancer genomics.

Outside the scientific world, I am a writer, primarily writing speculative fiction short stories. My fiction draws influence from slipstream, magical realism, and the post-Soviet immigrant experience.
