I was born in Japan and grew up in Short Hills, New Jersey where I attended The Pingry School and played lacrosse.

I moved to Paris and finished my last two years of high school at a bilingual school with 40 nationalities.

I moved back to the States for undergrad at UVM and spent 10 months in Berlin in a Duke junior year abroad program and learned German and enjoyed being in Berlin right as the wall came down and East Berlin totally changed before my eyes. I spend a summer in Frankfurt as an intern and then two summers in Geneva also as an intern where I fell in love with the people and place.

I then lived in NYC with a ton of travel to Silicon Valley and Austin, Texas working for a UNIX company.

Moved to Nottingham, UK, then Vienna, Austria and then Bratislava, Slovakia where I worked in telecom doing business in Bosnia, Croatia, Slovenia, Czech and Slovak Republics as well as the UK.

Got an MBA at Georgetown University on scholarship and founded a VC-backed VoIP startup and later moved to London where I stayed for 10 years before finally settling in Silicon Valley where I am very happy with my Slovak wife, two sons, dog, cat and chickens :-)
