Writer, Student, and Software Engineer in Kenya
Angela Mugo is a graduate engineer from Kenyatta University, where she studied Electrical and Electronics Engineering. She was a member of the Engineering Students Association at Kenyatta University and also a member of the hobbyist club. The hobbyist club comprises of students who are passionate about electrical engineering innovations.
Angela has worked as an intern at: East African Maltings Limited and Kenyatta National Hospital. She was a volunteer at the IBM research lab where she interacted and learnt about the exciting research that the IBM scientists were working on during the period she was there.
Angela is a Brand Ambassador (BA) at AfricaTalentbank.com (ATB), which is a digital recruitment company that aims to Prepare, Position and Transition students from Campus to Corporate life. ATB also organises events which include: Graduate Careers Fairs as well as Entrepreneur Bootcamps, where key speakers have included: Bob Collymore (CEO, Safaricom), Kunle Awosika (Country Manager-Microsoft Kenya), and James Mworia (CEO, Centum Investment).
Angela was involved in the ATB TV project, a forum where youth discussed current affairs. She is also a core member of the ATB events team. At University, Angela's ATB responsibilities included: marketing the ATB brand to her university peers. Angela is also a columnist writing weekly articles on the ATB Facebook page, with her theme being ‘Feel Good Friday’.
Angela is a volunteer with ROCK (Kenya), which is an organization that tutors children from Kibera slum. She enjoys learning about new technology, travelling and discovering new places and experiences. she is also a fan of literary works and is a collector of Robin Sharma and Paulo Coelho. Angela enjoys sports and is particularly keen on squash.
She enjoys being in high pressure situations that force her out of her comfort zone.
