Welcome! My enthusiasm for music teaching derives from a variety of musical experiences: playing the flute, recorder, piano, singing in choirs, conducting, playing in a gamelan ensemble, and studying music academically. I believe that music is for everyone, and helping others to nurture a lifelong love of music is a delight for me.

In my music lessons I try to ensure that pupils are not only learning to play an instrument, but are also engaging with and learning about music through their chosen instrument. Alongside focussed instrumental learning, lessons include listening games to develop aural awareness, composition and improvisation to nurture creativity and self-expression, informal performance opportunities to build confidence, and fun and engaging written exercises to help learn the theory of music. Every lesson is tailored to the individual and delivered with encouragement and support.

Pupils are encouraged to contribute to the direction of their individual musical journey, including developing a practice schedule and preparing for ABRSM music exams if they wish.

Please contact me for any further information. I look forward to hearing from you!
