Annalise Parady

Tempe, Arizona

Hello, my name is Annalise Parady. Originally born and raised in Wyoming, I came to Arizona for Barrett, the Honors College at ASU and fell in love with Phoenix unexpectedly. I graduated May 2012 with a major in Sociology, and a minor in Non-Profit Leadership and Management. Immediately after graduation, I was accepted into Public Allies Arizona, a non-profit leadership development program, and am currently serving my second term of service with this AmeriCorps program. For my first term, I was placed in Guadalupe, Arizona, doing community development work. I served my second term of service with Tumbleweed Center for Youth Development's Casa De Sueños program as a Volunteer and Activities Coordinator. The Casa De Sueños program serves unaccompanied minors, or youth who recently crossed the border alone. Living in Arizona for the past 5 years and serving with this organization revealed the intense difficulties of our broken immigration system. I am seeking employment in the nonprofit sector and hope to seek my Masters degree in Social Work within the next few years.
