Annsharina San Juan Del Rio (born August 30 1993) , known by many as Ashri, is an independent artist based in the Philippines. Her musical style draws from many different genres, often blending with classic Jazz, R&B and Acoustic Pop. She used to make covers of songs on Soundcloud and Youtube. She started to write her original songs at the age of 13. Her musical influences range from Kimbra, Sitti to Armi Millare.

Early Life and Education

Ashri was born on 30 August 1993, in Quezon City, Philippines. As she learned to play guitar and piano at the age of thirteen (13), she also began writing her own music. Ashri graduated from De La Salle Lipa Philippines in April 2013 with a degree of Bachelor of Arts in Communication with elective tracks in Advertising and was a dean’s lister at said university. In high school, she was under the music specialisation program of Batangas Science School.

In College, she was an active member of ACTS (Association of Communication Students) where she was the Radio Guild Head from 2011-2012 and became Vice President for Activities from 2012-2013. She was a Radio Jockey of De La Salle 106.1 Animo FM from 2011-2013. She was also a member of Batangas Province Scholars Association (BAPROSA) and a scholar of BPSP (Batangas Province Scholarship Program) under Gov. Vilma Santos-Recto from 2009-2013.

Ashri has received two recognitions: Global Gold Award for Globe’s Best Oral Research Presenter and Global Diamond Award for Student Researcher 2012 during the GCEBES 2012 (Global conference on Education, Business, Engineering and Sciences) held by IAMURE (International Association of Multidisciplinary Research) at the Marina Bay Sands Expo Convention Center, Singapore. Her research entitled “Bilingual Mastery as Effectual Medium of Instruction in General Education Courses” together with her partner Jezreel Lopez and other researchers was publicised last January 2013.

Solo Career

Since the age of 17, Ashri has been performing in school activities and local gigs. She composed De La Salle Lipa’s Jubilee Dance Anthem with Mariz Del Rio and M Sambayan entitled Celebrate La Salle last November 2012 .Her love for singing-songwriting led her to do OST's for students and indie Lipeño films.
