That's me on a volcano in Hawaii. I was stupid enough to wear shorts. I am a senior designer with a background in diverse visual arts along with instructional design, interaction design, and UX/UI work. Much of my experience is in medicine and in education, although I have done some work in games, special effects, and architectural rendering. I've been involved in 3d since '97 and more recently VR and AR.

I believe that sitting at desks all day is a holdover from typewriters and hand written ledgers. I believe that the future is one of natural interaction, augmented and virtual reality (and non-invasive cognitive assistance eventually), contextually sensitive artificial intelligence, and the necessary interconnectedness infrastructure to support it all.

The AI will understand our intended task pathways, handling the mundane aspects while we arrange the purposes at a higher level. In this way we will start to fulfill the ability of everyone to create that which he or she imagines and requires, improving not just how we interact with data in our work, but how we interact with the physical world as well.

If you're interested in collaborating with me or scheduling a talk on visual, user experience, interaction, and the evolution of design, please feel free to send an email. Thank you.
