Hey, you! Thanks for stopping by.

I live in New Plymouth, the main city inthe beautiful province of Taranaki, New Zealand. I live with my lovely partner, our two staffordshire bull terriers Ella and Eevee, our two cats Gaia and Darby, and our two fish Bacon and Fritz.

I am currently a full-time Massey University student, doing a bachelor of Health Science by distance learning. My major is psychology, as I am fascinated by the way the mind works, and my minor is in community nutrition, as I am passionate about healthy foods and well-being.

I hope through my studies I will be able to work with people from all walks of life to achieve well-being, in a safe, holistic and fun way. I personally think the traditional biomedical approach to health is outdated - most people need to experience a real connection and understanding from those who are helping them in order to make lifelong improvements, and the biomedical approach is unable to provide that. I think a more contemporary, people-oriented approach is the way to achieve this, and this is what I plan to integrate into my work.

But if that doesn't work out I'll settle for travelling the world on a shoestring budget.

My first ever blog, and subsequently this page, have been made because of a paper I am doing, social networking for business. The first assignment for this paper is a 12 week blog project - something I have never done, and something I am quite excited to do. And who knows, this could be the start of whole new era of social media use for me...
