April Brown
Consultant, Facilitator, and Coach in London
Helping people and organisations create fairer opportunities to participate, progress and thrive.
I work across equity, engagement and people development, helping organisations turn good intentions into practical strategies, programmes and experiences that make a meaningful difference to people’s working lives and communities.
My work brings together more than 15 years’ experience across arts and culture, youth and community engagement, equity and inclusion, organisational development and social impact.
I design strategy, develop programmes, facilitate learning and host conversations that help people feel heard, recognise their value and participate more fully.

My work includes:

- confidence and progression
- recognising and communicating your value
- asking for what you want
- navigating feedback and scrutiny

My approach is practical, participatory and equity-aware, with an emphasis on creating environments where people can take part in different ways.
Where useful, drawing on my training as a 200-hour yoga teacher and somatic practitioner, I incorporate embodied tools such as movement, breath, grounding and reflection to support focus, regulation and learning.
There is no expectation to perform confidence, disclose personal experiences or participate in one particular way.
for individuals
Coaching
I offer culturally informed coaching for people navigating work, change and questions about what comes next.
You might be:
- trying to work out your next career move
- navigating a period of transition or change
- struggling to recognise or communicate your value
- rebuilding confidence after burnout or a difficult experience
- trying to progress without leaving important parts of yourself behind
- figuring out how work can better reflect your values, strengths and life
I particularly understand the experiences of people who may not always see themselves reflected in traditional professional or leadership spaces, including racialised, neurodivergent and working-class professionals.
Our work together creates space to think clearly, understand what matters to you and make practical decisions about what comes next.
about me
I have spent more than 15 years working across arts, culture, youth, community engagement and social impact, designing programmes, strategies and experiences that help people participate, progress and have a meaningful voice in the systems around them.
My work has included projects and programmes with organisations including Tate, Somerset House, Creative Access, A New Direction, LIFT and The Mayor’s Fund for London.
I hold an MA in Arts & Cultural Management from King’s College London, am a Fellow of the School for Social Entrepreneurs, and an alumna of the Clore Emerging Leaders programme.
I am also a qualified 200-hour trauma-informed yoga teacher and somatic practitioner, which informs the way I think about participation, regulation, reflection and sustainable ways of working.
