Hello! Thanks for stopping by my page!
I currently work as a Career Advisor within the Business Career Services Center (BCSC) at the University of Kansas. I am also an advisor for the KU chapter of Delta Epsilon Iota (DEI), a career-focused honor society. In my role as a Career Advisor at the BCSC, I work every day to help college students discover their strengths and interests while navigating the sometimes wild waters of choosing a major, exploring careers and extra-curricular activities, developing a resume, connecting with employers, and landing a position that fits a student's values, interests, strengths, and personality. I absolutely love that part of my job!
A proud Iowa native, I graduated in May 2012 from Central College (Go Dutch!) in Pella, Iowa, with a degree in History. In May 2014, I graduated with a Master of Science in Education degree in Higher Education Administration, Student Affairs from the University of Kansas and began my position with the BCSC in June 2014. I have a passion for career services and students, and my job at the BCSC blends the two perfectly!
Outside of work, I am positively nerdy about most things pop culture and history-related. I enjoy social media, reading, watching the latest movies and television shows, going to historical sites and museums, and hanging out with friends! I also love to re-furbish old treasures and turn them into something new! I will never say "no" to puzzles, corny jokes, a good garage sale, or baby animals, and I can usually be found chatting with a cup of coffee!
