I was raised by generations of strong, self-sufficient southern women who ingrained in me the value of hard work, determination and a genuine smile. Their strength has inspired me to persevere through challenging times and their invaluable support has established in me the importance of strong and diverse friendships. It is this mind-set that I brought on a trip to India, making my journey to the Taj Mahal an experience I will never forget. Just as the Taj Mahal is symbolic of a treasured relationship, my professional and personal accomplishments can be attributed to my relationships with my friends, family, colleagues and mentors.

During college, I built strong relationships with peers through leadership roles in campus academic and volunteer organizations; many of these friendships continued after graduation. While working in the mortgage industry, I ran into friend who served with me on the Texas A&M University student government board. It was this relationship that led to the professional opportunity with my current employer, Capgemini, a management and IT consultancy. As a consultant, I have worked on a variety of project teams with people of diverse backgrounds and skills. It is my Texas heritage that brings what we southerners like to say, “just a little somethin’ extra!” to each team I join.

Whether it is my love of college football, occasional uses of the word “y’all” or belief that the combination of pecan pie and Blue Bell ice cream is undeniably delicious, my Texas charm always introduces a fresh perspective to any community. I am excited for the new experiences and relationships to come.
