Asiyah Muhsin-Thomas is a native of Queens, New York who has resided in the Atlanta, GA area for 9 years. She is most noted for her calling to midwifery at the age of 17 and for dedicating the last 22 years of her life to upholding birth work, and serving her community of women of color. Her entrepreneurial spirit and love of natural birth, led her to found Mother Nature’s Belly Pregnancy & Lactation Center in 2006 which she owned and operated until changing entrepreneurial paths in 2013.

In 2012, Asiyah took her long time hobby of soapmaking and crafting natural body products to new heights, when she delved into the bath and body products sales world and opened Royal by Nature. Royal by Nature is a successful luxury lifestyle brand that offers handcrafted products for body, bath, and home. To date, she has sold thousands of products to customers in over 30 states and 7 countries internationally.

Mrs. Muhsin-Thomas is also a self-published author of children’s books geared towards young girls of color, a lifestyle blogger, and freelance writer. She is currently penning her 1st women’s inspirational book aimed at dispelling myths surrounding Black women and motherhood.

Since 2010, Asiyah has been blessed to speak at several conferences and events geared towards women’s health & wellness, empowerment, adoption, entrepreneurship, and nutrition. In June of 2012, she was selected as a Community Health Leader by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Office on Women’s Health. During this same month, her story of surviving breast cancer at age 33, and later breastfeeding one of her adopted children was published by WomensHealth.gov. Asiyah’s experience with adoptive breastfeeding led her to develop an infant formula that is the first of its kind in the United States. It is currently Patent Pending, and expected to hit the retail market in early 2018.

Asiyah is educated, certified and/or licensed in over 20 disciplines including: nursing, direct entry midwifery, lactation support, women’s reproductive health, community health leadership, human services, maternal child health, adoption coaching, business management, and nutrition. She attended Dillard University in New Orleans, LA and Helene Fuld College of Nursing in New York, NY. Mrs. Muhsin-Thomas has written articles for and been published in the Expectant Mother’s Guide to Atlanta, The Workshop in Business Opportunities, Ehow.com, and The Office on Women’s Health to name a few.
