I help Developers who write programs do what they do and get out of their way. Remove all obstacles.
I am currently employed by Terracotta, a company that makes Java run faster, as their Chief Systems Architect. I manage the entire Terracotta R&D infrastructure, both physical and virtual machines remotely, from anywhere. I work with amazing smart people, all of them way smarter than me.
I focus on computer server infrastructure, where the machines live. You'll find me working mostly with with Linux servers, either in physical data centers, as real beasts or as virtual machines, hosted in the cloud. I speak the language of automation, using Puppet, Perl, PHP, Python, and Ruby ,and make computers do lots of things for me.
Everything I do I do remotely, from anywhere. I design with mobility in mind. When we talk about 'the cloud' I am doing the cloud. Just like the eagle. ( using AWS, XEN, VMware )
Experience counts. More is always more.
Outside of work I can be found trying to find my way to warm tropical waters where I can scuba dive in the ocean, and get some photography in. When I can't get to warmer climates I can be found here in the Pacific Northwest, trying to get a better shot of an eagle or just taking it all in. Not to mention the beer.
Birds of a feather flock together.
If you're an eagle contact me.
