Aubrey McCormick is a former professional golfer with a background in all aspects of the sport. Her main focus areas are fundraising, business development, media and environmental advocacy. During the course of her 13 year career in golf, McCormick competed nationally on the LPGA Symetra Tour, US Open qualifying schools, and the Sun Coast Tour. She served as an LPGA instructor for two seasons at private country clubs in New York and Washington, DC. Furthermore, she established Aubrey McCormick Golf, LLC and raised over $300,000 in investment money to allow her the opportunity to compete.
Following her professional golf career, McCormick pursued her passion in environmental advocacy. She accepted a role with Green America, environmental non-profit, as Membership Coordinator. In this role, she traveled to Chicago, New York city, and San Francisco to assist in promoting the national Green Festivals. During her career at Green America, McCormick was chosen as a contestant on the television show “Big Break Atlantis” on the Golf Channel. This was the perfect platform for merging her two passions-golf and sustainability.
During the airing of Big Break Atlantis, Aubrey was showcased as the “Green Golfer” and recognized for her efforts and passion for educating others on the importance the environment plays in golf. Following the show, McCormick continued to research and learn how she can help drive the message of sustainability within the industry.
Following the show, McCormick continued to research, develop partnerships with mentors, spoke at the Experience Green Event in Hilton Head, SC and Club Managers Association events.
After Green America, she joined forces with Sustainability expert, Anca Novacovici, and took a role as Director of Engagement for Eco-Coach Inc., consulting firm focused on sustainability within business. Engaged and ready to learn the techniques in developing business in one of the most competitive industries in Washington, DC.
She is currently spearheading efforts within the golf industry, successfully landing her first client, Bull Run Golf Course in Virginia. Aubrey will be attending Presidio Graduate School MBA in Sustainable Management, while continuing to build the case for greening the golf industry and developing her skill set beyond the sport.
