I've been working with Information Security for more than a decade, when I started working for a Brazilian consulting company called Modulo. I had worked not only as a consultant but also as security manager for different organizations, such as BankBoston, Fidelity Information Services and CIBC. I'm currently working as Research Director at Gartner (GTP - Gartner for Technical Professionals).

Since I started on this field I have been expressing my opinions on several matters on my blog, mailing lists, forums and twitter. In 2003, I coined the term honeytoken during a discussion with other researchers on the focus-ids mailing list. Some of my research includes the evolution of trojan horses and botnets. I was also one of the first researchers to demonstrate the "Man in the Browser" class of attacks. I was president of the Brazilian ISSA Chapter during 2006/2007.

My other interests include my much loved son, born in 2012, politics and science. After much thought, I decided to start writing again about non-security stuff in a small personal blog, "my little writing playground". I just don't know how to stay quiet :-)
