Austin Williams is the Senior Manager of Business Development at WeWork; a community-driven organization focused on providing entrepreneurs and businesses with the platform and services they need to succeed. Prior to this role, Austin helped guide business development and new client acquisition for Boston-based Shawmut Design and Construction, where he was also a member of the Commercial Real Estate Development Association, NAIOP Massachusetts.
At WeWork, Austin has led numerous initiatives in business development, strategic partnerships, growth marketing, product development, and corporate sponsorships. These include the direct negotiation of hundreds of partnerships globally on behalf of WeWork businesses; the creation of regional standards and training protocols to empower local business development; and the delivery of substantial partnership revenue and third-party sponsorships for WeWork events and initiatives.
Over the years, Austin has consulted directly and often with WeWork businesses on best practices, growth strategies, and service recommendations through dedicated office hours in New York and Boston. Most recently, Austin worked alongside internal groups to develop and launch the WeWork Services Store; a significant product development effort and digital overhaul of WeWork's services ecosystem.
Outside of work, Austin is a founding board member of the Young Advisory Council at Syracuse University’s Whitman School of Management, a member of The Nature Conservancy’s Young Professionals Group, and a Culture Ambassador at WeWork. Austin has also volunteered with New York Cares and The Greater Boston Food Bank. As a staunch advocate for local communities, Austin is passionate about small business development, urban planning, sustainability, and historic preservation — particularly in his home state of Massachusetts.
