Azucena Peralta

Azucena was born and raised in El Paso, TX. She attended a Montessori school for the entirety of her primary schooling. Her Middle School Education was obtained from St. Pius X School. Her freshman year of high school she attended Father Yermo, but then convinced her parents that she was ready to attend a public school for the last three years of high school. She graduated from Americas High School in 2002, and started her undergraduate education at the University of Texas at El Paso.

Azucena obtained a degree in Marketing & International Business in 2006, and a second bachelor in Economics in 2007. She then started the Master of Science in Economics at UTEP. She completed her coursework and her thesis project was well underway, but in the Spring of 2009 Azucena was accepted in the Doctoral program of Economics at the University of Delaware, Newark. Azucena began work on her doctoral degree in the Fall of 2009. By far one of the most amazing experiences of her life, Azucena enjoyed her time in Newark, DE to the fullest.

During the Fall of 2010, Azucena decided to take a year off from the doctoral program in order to complete her masters thesis. By the Summer of 2011, she had successfully presented and defended her thesis, and was awarded her MS in Economics. As she was getting ready to restart her Ph.D. in Economics, Azucena and her spouse Daniel found out that they were soon to be a family of three. Though it was very hard to give up her life long dream of obtaining her doctoral degree, Azucena decided to drop out of the program and officially start her family.

Azucena is now working for a Texas Credit Union giant as a Research Analyst in the Marketing Department. In order to keep her Economics skills sharp, she is also a Professor of Economics at the local college. During her spare time, Azucena runs her very own all-natural health and beauty venture as part of the It Works Global team. Check out her website for more information about these products.
