Ashley Baquero is an Education Planning and Development Consultant. Prior to her consulting work, she spent eight years teaching in low-income schools in Georgia and North Carolina. She served diverse students with energetic and innovative teaching and mentorship. Her pedagogical philosophy is grounded in whole child education - guiding a child socially, intellectually, creatively, and emotionally. She believes in passionate instruction that elicits joy and curiosity in the classroom. She has developed effective curriculum for the middle grades and managed school wide curriculum projects.

She graduated from Eckerd College in Florida with high honors and later received her law degree from the University of Florida. After practicing law for several years, she chose to follow her true passion into the classroom. She strongly believes that a good education has the power to be the great equalizing force that allows all children to become successful members of society.

In 2010 Ashley was selected to join the highly competitive national corps of teachers, Teach for America. She served a diverse range of students in Atlanta and Durham with results-driven instruction and support. She has worked with child refugees and English language learners to successfully remediate years of language and academic disparities.
