Barb is a mom of 5 kids who spends her days dealing with the adventurous chaos of 4 boys and one princess. Living in the suburbs of Philly, she loves being minutes away from the city, and just steps away from her 12-bed organic vegetable garden.
Before staying home to homeschool her oldest son, Barb spent ten years working in fundraising for various nonprofits in Philadelphia. Along the way, she learned desktop publishing and web design on a shoestring budget to go along with her writing and photograph skills making blogging and social media a natural next step.
Between loads of laundry and supervising her too-smart-for-his-own-good 4 year old, Barb runs, cooks, volunteers at school for her other children, reads, and cooks some more. She writes about her life at A Life in Balance and shares her love for local food and cooking at Frugal Local Kitchen.
