Barney Rowntree is an award-winning producer who has worked in radio and television for 12 years. A versatile programme maker with excellent writing, editorial and story telling skills, he has made documentaries from across the world, including news, arts, music and factual based features. He has produced daily news programmes, round-table discussions, turned features around in a week and produced a 6-month long series for Radio 4.
In 2004 he made the first radio documentary for the BBC about Barack Obama when he was running for the US Senate. His work includes the award winning series 1968 Day by Day that tracked a year in sound for six months, day by day and a hugely ambitious documentary on the American prison system entitled Three Generations of Incarceration.
