Barry Logan (Toxicologist)

Dr. Barry Logan is leading international figure in the field of forensic toxicology. A seasoned forensic toxicologist who holds both a BS in chemistry and a PhD in forensic toxicology from the University of Glasgow in Scotland, he has subsequently worked in many different countries as a consultant medicolegal expert. Dr. Barry Logan has taught university courses in forensic chemistry and forensic toxicology at numerous universities and colleges in the United States and in South America, including Brazil, where he has several pending projects.

After his formal graduate education, Dr. Logan subsequently accepted teaching and research position at the University of Tennessee Department of Allied Health Sciences before he set up his own toxicology consulting services company which he has maintained until today. While maintaining his business as an independent consultant, Dr. Logan has accepted numerous additional educational and research posts with a series of private and public organizations.

Dr. Logan currently serves dual roles as the chief scientist/senior vice president of forensic science initiatives at NMS Labs and as the Executive Director of the Center for Forensic Science Research and Education (CFSRE). Dr. Logan has managed forensic toxicology casework for NMS since 2008 and overseen nonprofit research efforts for CFSRE since 2010.
