I am an Information Technology professional currently contracting to a major satellite TV company as a Capacity Planning Architect for the Network Systems Administration group. I have been working to implement BMC's TrueSight Capacity Optimization tool. Over the last few months, I have worked to get the infrastructure and software installed and configured to begin collecting data. We are now creating models by correlating data from tools such as AppDynamics and VMWare vSphere.
My IT background includes experience with Mainframe hardware and software as well as operations. I have worked in mainframe automation and Unix/Midrange Capacity Planning. In the past, I have mentored Unix system admins on performance issues and how to monitor usage on their machines.
I retired from AT&T as a Sr. Technical Architect in early 2014 where I was one of the 2 founding members of the Systems Capacity Planning Tools and Web team. Over the years, we set up tools to allow the Systems Capacity Planning team to monitor and forecast over 40,000 servers within the enterprise.
When not looking for new career opportunities, I keep busy as President of the Temecula Valley Computer User Group (TVCUG). I am also a member of a MeetUp group called Temecula Valley Software Developers. Our TVSD group is becoming more active in the Temecula area.
BTW, the photo is the view from our planned retirement home near Bocas del Toro, Panama.
