Benjamin J. Vann {BJ} is a dynamic up and coming businessman, philanthropist, social entrepreneur, and speaker currently living in Dallas, Texas. His interests range from philanthropy and social entrepreneurship to civic engagement and economic/urban development.

Benjamin is also passionate about fundraising, nonprofit governance, leadership development, and marketing.

He currently serves as the North Texas Donor Engagement Officer at The Trust for Public Land. Previously he worked in Managerial Finance at Fidelity Investments and ended is 6 year stint specializing in philanthropic guidance leveraging Fidelity Investments Donor Advised Fund (DAF). He was responsible for managing the central to west coast states, contributing over 3.1 B to charities world wide. He is also the Founder and Managing Partner of Ground Up - Social Impact Co-working, President & CEO of The Vann Group, Enterprises, active community organizer, board member, speaker/facilitator, and youth mentor.

He has been featured and recognized for his work as a community change maker organizing initiatives across the city of Dallas focused in local voter turnout, economic empowerment, police and community relations, violence and crime reduction, and domestic violence awareness. He was named 40 under 40 professionals to watch by i10 magazine Dallas Edition, #BlackDFWMatters community influencer, Who's Who in Black Dallas 3rd Edition featuring some of the most influential and prominent public figures in the Dallas community, 206 Mayors Star Council Fellow, and member of the Social Venture Partners Inaugural Dana Juett Social Venture Leadership Residency.

Benjamin was a stand out athlete at the High School, NCAA Collegiate and Professional Indoor Football level. He received his bachelors degree in Finance and Business Management with a minor in Marketing at Washburn University.

In his free time he enjoys spending time with family, playing music, a good cigar, art shows/festivals, attending church, and connecting people to opportunities.
