Beny Gideon Mabor

Adv. Beny Gideon Mabor, is South Sudanese politician and human rights lawyer. He was appointed Minister of East African Community Affairs in the Government of South Sudan and a former Undersecretary for the same Ministry of East African Community Affairs from 10th August 2023 to 8th October 2025 respectively.
Prior to assuming this role on the 10th August 2023, he was a commissioner at the South Sudan Human Rights Commission since 23rd May 2017.
In a professional background, Beny holds a post-graduate Diploma in Legal Practice(Dip-LP) at the Institute of Legal Practice and Development (ILPD) in the Republic of Rwanda and bachelor of laws degree(LL.B) from the School of Law, University of Juba respectively. He is currently a Master of Laws (LL.M) candidate at the Institute of Petroleum Studies-Kampala.
At practice level, he is an advocate of high court of South Sudan; a member of South Sudan Bar Association and East Africa Law Society (EALS) amongst other professional bodies. Beny has 18 years working experience starting with the Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Affairs in 2006 to five years experience of private legal practice. He equally serves on consultancy capacity with USAID, European Union, South Sudan Law Society, East and Horn of Africa Human Rights Defenders Network amongst others on long and short-term engagements.
Beny has good communication, research and writing skills and has academically published short and and peer reviewed articles in the area of politics, regional integration, security sector governance, human rights and transitional justice amongst others .
