Experience with many types of horses

I provide equine care and exercise riding for horse owners and trainers in Sonoma County. My services include feeding, grooming, blanketing, equine first aid, turn out, lunging and riding. I offer both short term and long term horse care. I have experience with all types of horses, including green horses, show horses, rescues and retirees, drafts and ponies, thoroughbreds, warmbloods, and more.

I began riding at an early age, even competing in lead line classes on my little paint pony Cricket when I was only 5. Throughout my childhood I continued riding and competing in Equitation and Hunter/Jumpers, as well as caring for my family's horses in Sebastopol, California.

In high school I became a working student for for eventing trainer Laura McEvoy and spent my summers at shows with my thoroughbred mare Jubilee. As a working student I had the opportunity to ride many different horses and assisted in training ponies for lessons, sale and shows. I also worked at summer horse camps, where I gained experience leading young riders and teaching beginners how to ride.

After graduating from San Francisco State Univeristy with a business degree, I returned to Sonoma County and continued working with horses. I began my own private equine care service, working with owners and their horses around Sonoma County. Currently I am also a working student at Hunter Lane Equestrian Center, where I assist my trainer with the care and training of her horses.

I am a safe, confident rider and horse handler, and I use a gentle approach with horses that allows them to build trust and confidence whether in the saddle or on the ground. I make sure to get to know each of the horses I work with individually, and I adapt my work or riding style according to each horse's needs. My dream is to contiue working with horses, ultimately as a competitive rider and trainer.
