David plays and works confidently in the worlds of interface, appliances, consumer electronics, and just about everything in between. Got an energy efficiency question? Wondering about the advantages of one electronic ecosystem over the other? Want assurance that a Twitter-capable fridge is a flaky way to bring connectivity to an appliance along with a more purposeful perspective? He's got you covered.

Humans are the starting and ending point for David's design work. From concept to execution, he hews close to the core authenticity behind a product's function. But he's hyper-alert for the ways human interactions with them can be refined to maximum utility, accessibility, and enjoyment while limiting potential liabilities like manufacturability, cultural-relevance, and displeasure. Do you really need such terrible jabber when a cycle is finished, or can we rebalance the product's behaviors with better-crafted visual aesthetics, material selections, sound design, or informational lighting?

Beyond design work (though intrinsically part of it) David is always ready to have that out-of-nowhere challenging conversation or read that future-facing sci-fi book to shake loose energizing new ideas and shift our thinking a bit.

In an increasingly networked human landscape, David is excited to be developing systems that synthesize connectivity, software, and hardware innovations to sand down the pointy bits of our interactions with the world around us. And to make better everything.
