Brenda Zubay

Public Defense Social Worker and Teacher in Brooklyn, New York

Hi, I’m Brenda. I’m a social worker at a public defender office in Brooklyn and have worked in this field since 2008. One thing I love about being a social worker is that my work is in line with my principles, mainly the beliefs that all human beings have inherent worth and dignity and that all of us are interconnected. I have been a field instructor for MSW interns since 2012 and really enjoy the chance to train future social workers. I have also taught social work for attorneys at a Cardozo School of Law clinic and regularly am a guest lecturer at Columbia University's School of Social Work. To complement and enhance my social work practice, I was trained in restorative justice circle-keeping in 2015. I also am a certified yoga instructor with an additional training in teaching yoga to at risk youth. I would be happy to speak to you further about facilitating a forensic social work workshop, RJ circle, or yoga class for you or your friends or coworkers - just click on the button above.
