Brian Crosland

I'm a mechanical engineering PhD student at Carleton University.

My thesis research involves the study and improvement of
laser-based combustion diagnostics for soot measurement in
turbulent flames.

I enjoy working on my new house, the sport of fencing, and
learning about new things (last year was personal finance, this year is home
energy monitoring and conservation).

I love teaching, and plan on pursuing a career in education and research once
I am finished my PhD in early 2013.

I have studied engineering in the U.S.A., France, and Canada. I speak English
and French, and live with my wife on the north shore of Montréal
in Québec, Canada.
