Brian Erbis

Brian Erbis is a retired New York City Police Department detective, Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), and a licensed private investigator in both Nevada (PILB #4253) and California (PI #190109). He is the founder, owner, and qualifying agent/qualified manager of Brian Erbis Consulting, LLC, headquartered in Reno, Nevada.

Erbis is actively engaged in public service and governance. He serves as President of the Northern Nevada Chapter of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, a member of the City of Reno Financial Advisory Board, a Commissioner on the City of Reno Civil Service Commission, and a member of the Washoe County Debt Management Commission. Through these roles, he contributes to financial oversight, public accountability, and ethical administration at the local and regional levels.

As a member of the Special Frauds Squad, he contributed to numerous successful prosecutions and developed advanced capabilities in complex, multi-jurisdictional investigations, including identifying, locating, and extraditing offenders across the United States.

Brian Erbis Consulting, LLC provides full-service investigative and consulting services, including private investigations, fraud examinations, mystery shopping, and small business monitoring. The firm emphasizes internal controls, risk identification, and the production of legally defensible findings for clients throughout Nevada and Northern California.

In furtherance of his commitment to accountability and transparency, Erbis founded the Brian Erbis Foundation, a nonprofit think tank and watchdog organization dedicated to examining governmental and private institutions, including licensing bodies, with a focus on identifying corruption, nepotism, cronyism, and systemic ethical failures.
