A true dyed-in-the-wool tech geek, Daniel has been making computers do cool stuff since he was old enough to read the instruction manual for his dad's IBM PC-XT. A Red Hat Certified Engineer, he stays current on best-of-breed technologies and practices as a matter of principle.
Daniel is currently living the life of a Hyperscale Hardware Lab for Facebook at their Prineville, Oregon data center. Facebook's PRN facility leads the industry as a model for how to run a massive, incredibly energy efficient operation. Daniel manages the lab environment where new breeds of servers are tested, qualified, and made to jump through flaming hoops.
Daniel gained data center expertise as the NOC Manager at the Immedion data center in Asheville, NC. He led a crack team of sysadmins who supported and provided professional services to Immedion's worldwide customer base. Immedion provides enterprise hosting, colocation, and cloud services, and Daniel and his team formed the operational support that kept it all humming.
Daniel founded Forty Hertz, Inc., a technology consulting corporation based in Los Angeles. With over a decade of professional experience in the field, Daniel and his team provided a single source for businesses wishing to outsource their IT operations while retaining the responsiveness and broad knowledge base that in-house IT usually provides. Forty Hertz's client base spanned a wide range of industries, including well known Hollywood production companies, dot-com startups, real estate development groups, and industrial clients.
In his spare time, Daniel runs, sits, radios, cooks, plays the drums, reads, photographs, hikes, and volunteers.
