I bring broad experience as a public health physician, medical teacher, general practitioner, health informaticist & author/ editor. Graduating in medicine from University of Otago NZ in 1992, after several years in hospital practice I trained & worked as a GP for 10 years before studying public health & commencing a health intelligence role. I joined the University of Nottingham in 2010 where I completed specialist public health & academic training in 2015. I am the author & editor (3rd. ed.) of the best-selling textbook Medicine and the Internet (Oxford).

My current roles are Public Health Lead for Child Death Review at Public Health Wales & Honorary Clinical Associate Professor in the School of Medicine at University of Nottingham.
