My mantra: “Story—above all.”
People experience your brand with all their senses—so we should design with all of them, too. And that’s what I do.
I build UX content systems using all the emotional tools available to me: words, images, film, timing, voiceover, soundscapes—anything can be an inspiration—so the brand story stays clear and consistent everywhere.
I’m a lifelong professional writer for businesses, an expert filmmaker, a lifelong pro musician and founder of Gravity Image, LLC, a global video and UX storytelling shop.
Selected clients: Thermo Fisher Scientific, PayPal, eBay, Venmo, Braintree, Fitbit, Pirelli, Rip Curl, StubHub, Trek.
Press: Forbes, TechCrunch, Business Insider, BusinessWire, The Holmes Report, Huffington Post, Guitar Player, Mix.
Previously I founded and led PayPal Studios on the San Jose campus, taking it from a closet to a 2,000-sq-ft facility that delivered $1.2M first-year savings and 10× vs agency rates.
I’ve led language systems and content operations for a variety of high-risk moments—paywalls, billing, consent, recovery, fraud—and I still write the critical flows when it matters.
Also creating:
“Building the Moon House” — A cinematic YouTube series on building an off-grid home
HatBright — a sweat-guard insert that keeps hats clean and crisp
BK Amaro — small-batch amaro in the Italian style
I also mentor up-and-coming creatives and love sharing what I’ve learned. When I’m not working, I’m usually making music, in the mountains, or under the hood of a classic car.
