Cami Donneys
visual artist, Musician, and Writer in Bonn, Germany
I’m a transdisciplinary artist with a background in visual arts, music, and literature, driven by a passion for design and technology. Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to serve as an art director, composer, session musician, artistic educator, and illustrator for international projects spanning music groups, publishing, art galleries, and branding.
Since childhood, I have been deeply involved in music interpretation and composition, as well as audio production and teaching. After studying at the Academia Superior de Artes in Bogotá, Colombia, I further honed my expertise by completing a Master’s degree in Germany under the mentorship of Prof. Michael Reisch at Alanus University in Bonn, Germany. Now based in Bonn, I teach drums and percussion at the music school in Sinzig, where I focus on creating engaging lessons that combine technical skill-building with creative exploration, catering to students of all ages. My teaching approach often integrates elements from the visual arts, encouraging students to explore the connections between rhythm, sound, and visual expression. I also lead interdisciplinary workshops for adults and children, blending music, art, and storytelling to inspire participants to discover new ways of creating and experiencing art.
Beyond my teaching and musical endeavors, I remain actively involved in the international art scene, participating in exhibitions, sound performances, and book publishing projects. Additionally, I collaborate with The Missive, a design studio based in New York, on design and illustration projects, continuously exploring the convergence of art, music, and design in innovative and inspiring ways.
