Cheryl Diane Parkinson PhD
Writer and Teacher in Norfolk, UK
A mother, teacher, writer, blogger, student and all round busy person.
Writer of non fiction as well as YA fiction. I write about everything and anything - from mermaids that live on a watery planet, to Nasty Nellie; a little girl who enjoys picking her nose! From serious articles about institutional racism within our schools to novella's about prejudice and racism.
My publishing history includes poetry, an article on racism within our schools published in The National Union of Teachers newsletter March 2012 and an interview published February 2016. I have also written articles for The Voice Online, performed poetry and readings of my work. I have an Independent Publishing house Cheeky Chappie Press, still in construction, where I plan to publish children's illustrative books.
My published fiction includes a piece in Gendered Voices, November 2017. You the Many, We the Few.
I am particularly proud of The Revolving Door, published in Entropy Magazine July 2018.
And my latest published extract MAYA
I am an English teacher with a PhD in creative writing. My latest work is researching Dissociative Identity Disorder through the technique of magical realism within my novel Bertha[s].
In between all that, I am a mother to four rascals who will always be my proudest achievement. :-)
