All of my passion for crafts started the day that I saw some Brownies sewing buttons onto a piece of cloth when I was five. I sat down with them and asked if I could join in. They said I was too young to join the Brownies but they would teach me how to sew. I was six when my auntie taught me how to knit, because I was jealous of my cousins (a lot older than me) who were knitting all the time. After that, whenever I saw people working on crafts, I watched them and taught myself at home afterwards.
My crafts: jewellery making, bead making, card making, knitting, crochet, cross-stitching, embroidery, origami.
I was born in South Brazil and moved to England in February 2000. I started making jewellery as a hobby around 1997 and fell in love with it. I had big success with craft fairs in Brazil. I started my business after a lot of my friends insisted that I did so.
When I was younger, I used to love watching “I dream of a Jeannie”. I also used to have my hair very high up, so my friends started to call me “Jeanie” (this is the way we spell it). I started to be known as Jeanie, especially after a carnival in Brazil when my Mum made me a Jeanie costume to wear. This is why my shop is called Jeanie (it is my dream becoming reality).
