Dr. Clement Chau is a child psychologist and an educator. Clement received his Ph.D. from Tufts University in applied child developoment, focusing on the role of new digital technologies on young children's development. Prior to his doctoral work, Clement completed an internship at MIT with Prof. Henry Jenkins on Project New Media Literacies.
Professionally, Clement is a Senior Learning Designer at Leapfrog Enterprises where he develops curriculum, designs games and toys, and ideates around educational innovations and strategies for learning toys, educational games, and interactive books.
Clement is the principal evaluator at Ponte & Chau Consulting in Belmont, MA, that aims to provide organizations interested in young children with the expertise and evidence-based practices they needed to grow, expand, and establish results.
As a researcher of new technologies, Clement has previously worked in the DevTech Research Lab at Tufts University under Prof. Marina Bers on a number of NSF funded projects and in the MIT Comparative Media Studies Department under Prof. Henry Jenkins on the MacArthur Foundation funded project New Media Literacies.
