Matt Davis is a Systems Architect working at a Fortune 1000 Financial Services organization. He is currently responsible for the end-to-end infrastructure for several key customer and internal facing critical systems. Prior to his current role, Matt was a storage specialist responsible for AIX, several Cisco SAN fabrics, a pair of EMC VNXs, a pair of EMC Symmetrixes, and several other storage devices.
Previously, Matt implemented his company’s first fully virtualized AIX environment from the ground up, including integration with backup/recovery environment, security provisioning, and automated OS deployment and update. Prior to this, AIX did not exist at this company.
Going back even further, he spent 5 years with the Corporate Windows Server support group specializing in automation, end-to-end architecture, DotNet, and standardized OS builds.
He holds the following certifications and designations: VMware vExpert 2012, 2014; EMC Elect 2013-2014; Cisco Champion 2014; EMC Certified Cloud Architect; VCA: Cloud & DCV; IBM Certified pSeries Administrator for 5.3; MCSE:Security for Windows 2000.
Matt has worked as a COBOL/JCL tutor, a Unix programmer, and a bartender. He still wishes he could run BeOS at home.
