Daniel Wetter is an entrepreneur and award-winning video journalist. Currently a political communication student in the School of Media and Public Affairs at The George Washington University and a finance intern at the Marco Rubio for President campaign, Daniel aspires to lead political campaigns both in his home state of California and nationally. In his first year in the nation’s capital, he worked as a College Associate for Fox Business Network, and a fundraising intern at a leading Republican digital strategy firm called Targeted Victory. As an intern at Targeted Victory, he advised the Client Strategy team on how campaigns can best leverage Snapchat to reach young voters. He also analyzed millions of dollars of donation data from state and national campaigns in the 2014 midterm election cycle and helped maintain the company’s intra-website.

In high school, Daniel launched a highly successful digital broadcasting program. He raised thousands of dollars from local organizations, and acquired tens of thousands of more dollars through spearheading an effort to apply for Career Technical Education funding from the State of California. These funds helped furnish the program with professional video equipment and a high definition studio. Hundreds of students from diverse backgrounds have taken the class, learning real-world skills and discovering new passions, while also becoming eligible for college credit through a local community college.

Daniel worked at FOX40 News, a local television station in Sacramento, starting his sophomore year of high school. At FOX40, he reported on teen-related stories and wrote for the evening and weekend newscasts. His reporting at FOX40 earned him the Richard Zimmerman Award from the National Press Club, a national award given to aspiring journalists.
