Dar Wolnik has been working on social change issues in the U.S. since the 1980s, while encouraging civic activity across North America. She provides support and consulting for localized food systems as the Program Director for Farmers Market Coalition and as a consultant at Helping Public Markets Grow. She has blogged for two decades and published essays and non-fiction for the last 15 years on clean water, pocketbook issues, reanimating public spaces and direct action democracy among other subjects. Shen lives in the oldest public square in New Orleans and travels across the US each summer to communities working on democratic and inclusive food systems.
