Deborah Ehler-Hansen

Librarian/Media Specialist

I am a High School Librarian/Media Specialist, who designs curriculum which integrates technology, inquiry, and personalized learning experiences for students.

I believe all students should be able to access the information they need, and express and reflect upon their learning in the format that best facilitates their individual learning style.

Learning should be relevant, engaging, inquiry based, and threaded with technology if we are to create deep learning experiences for our students.

I love to travel! I was an exchange student, in-between high school and college, and ended up living in Europe for several years. I also love to read, take long bike rides, hike, cross country ski, and spend time with family and friends.

My Bachelor of Science is in Business and Management. Before working in the library, I was an Accountant and then a Program Manager for an international plastics manufacturer. In Europe, I was also an English teacher at a Montessori elementary school.

My big career change came in 2006, when I started working in the library at an independent high school in New England. I am a licensed Teacher, with a Library Media endorsement, and a Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Curriculum and Instruction, designing inquiry based curriculum, which personalizes and transforms student learning outcomes with the integration of technology.
