Student in St. Louis, Missouri
I’m a Ph.D. Candidate in Anthropology and I'm pursuing a certificate in Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies at Washington University in St. Louis. I am a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellow, and I contribute to the most widely read anthropology blog, Savage Minds.
My research interests revolve around anthropology and childbirth. Specifically, I’m interested in how men experience the pregnancy of their partners, the births of their children, and their inauguration into fatherhood. I’m also interested in the ways in which the technopolitics of prenatal screening technologies inform and shape men’s preparations for fatherhood. My primary fieldsite for this research is in Dakar, Senegal.
